Leicester laughs & the pillow princess: show #34 recap

Writer: MuhsinMuhsin

🔢 Show #34 of the Year

🚗 Miles Traveled: 103 miles (London to Leicester)

🎭 Venue: The Y Theatre, 7 East Street, Leicester, LE1 6EY

🎤 Headliner: Richard Blackwood 🔥

What he’s like offstage

Richard is one of those people who just makes you feel good to be around. He’s easy to chat to, a natural conversationalist, and hypes people up like a proper legend. I tried a new joke, and he gassed me up about it. Then told me he’s been watching my growth as a comedian. Not gonna lie, hearing that from someone like him? That’s the kind of motivation that keeps you going in this business.

The show recap

🔥 Audience Vibe: Up for a laugh and ready for anything.

😂 Best Crowd Moment: I brought an audience member on stage and asked him for five reasons he loves his wife. He confidently shouted she’s “good in bed.” When I turned to his wife to see if she agreed… let’s just say her enthusiasm didn’t quite match his (he’s a pillow princess).

🎤 How my set went:

Some gigs remind you exactly why you do this, and this was one of them. The energy was great, I felt in a solid rhythm, and the audience was properly engaged. There were a few hecklers who were way too excited about seeing Richard, but honestly, they just added to the fun.

Final thoughts & next stop

Next up Birmingham, again.
